A phased implementation of the recommendations has commenced. Engagement with the marine workforce in relation to issues raised through Comcare is continuing through regular forums, health and safety representatives and the CPSU. The Department and ABF recently initiated the Marine Improvement Program focused on addressing issues in the Marine Workforce and supporting elements in a cohesive and collaborative manner. Home Affairs and ABF have committed resources to the program, which is expected to take between 12-18 months to implement.”
